The r/Devilcorp subreddit was created in 2021 to give former salespeople, team leaders, office owners, and recruiters at 'Devilcorp' companies a place to share their experiences.

For years, companies in this industry have worked to silence negative accounts, improving their public perception and sustaining recruitment, both essential to survival given their notoriously high turnover.

This suppression has taken many forms: the astroturfing of review platforms like Glassdoor and Google Reviews with five-star write-ups posted by team members on their office owner's orders; the removal of negative reviews from those same platforms through spurious defamation claims; and the scrubbing of critical testimonies from social media, blogging platforms, and consumer protection sites. The same abuse of defamation law has also been used to remove damaging content from search results entirely.

Compounding this is the industry's chronic pattern of rebranding and relocation, whether through legal channels or simply by renaming social media pages, allowing the same owners and national consultants to continue operating long after each of their offices inevitably collapse.

r/Devilcorp now makes this suppression effectively impossible, giving any current or former salesperson a public platform to share their story and whatever industry insight they choose to make public. The turnaround from an office opening and beginning recruitment, to candidates posting about their experiences, can now be near-instantaneous. Reddit's high SEO ranking means these posts frequently appear in search results above the companies' own websites and social media pages. Where companies begin recruiting before establishing any web presence, our forum is often the only place they appear online at all.
