Our UK Sales Office Batchgeo Tracking Map is one of Devilcorp.org’s first OSINT community projects, with the purpose of harnessing data from UK business registry Companies House to accurately locate and track all Appco and Credico offices across the UK.

We developed our UK tracking map first by building a dataset of active Credico and Appco sales offices, using a combination of our own research and community contributions from the r/devilcorp subreddit.

By finding the UK company numbers of these offices, we’re then able to use VLOOKUP across Companies House’s UK wide business data to ensure we’re kept current on each office's trading name, address, and operational status. We then enter this data into Batchgeo, which automatically maps each office across the UK with their legally registered addresses.

Anyone can use the map to monitor the current state of the direct sales/charity fundraising industry in the UK.

Want to find out how many sales offices are operating in your local area, as well as what their names are and who is running them? Simply find your region on our map, equipped with Google Locations and Street View functionality, and see which sales offices are fundraising near you.

Perhaps you’re curious where an office may have previously operated, and under what names? Our map not only provides a history for each office’s name changes and when they occurred, but you can also use the map’s search function to look up names which active offices have previously used.

Conducting independent investigations into Credico and Appco sales offices is now simpler than ever. Our map includes direct links to each office’s Companies House page, plus a one-click search feature across the r/devilcorp subreddit for each office, meaning you can quickly access both legal records and real experiences from former salespeople for any office you're interested in.

Methodology:

We had 4 primary goals when developing our UK Tracking Map:

Community Driven: Include our community of former sales reps on r/devilcorp in the development of the map.

• Each sales office on our map also contains a one-click Reddit search option, presenting users with every mention of that specific office across r/devilcorp. This ensures that community submitted information is an inherent part of the tracking map.

User Friendly: Make the map user-friendly for those searching for Credico and Appco UK sales offices.

• Not only is Batchgeo’s Map UI very user friendly, simplifying great amounts of data in a visually striking way that is easy to navigate and understand, but the additional search function allows users to search our integrated dataset for a specific Office Name, UK Region, Parent Company, Company Number, or an office’s Previous Name. 

Correct: Keep the map’s dataset as current and up-to-date as possible.

• Using UK Company Numbers of known Credico and Appco offices as a VLOOKUP reference to search across updated Companies House data, ensures that our UK Tracking Map is correct as of each Companies House monthly data update.

Quick and Easy to Update: Ensure the map can be easily updated when handling the large amounts of data involved.

• Updating the data within a Batchgeo map is as easy as copying and pasting it straight from an Excel spreadsheet. Batchgeo also automatically maps each office with the Address Column in our sales office dataset.
